EXIM Approves $832.5 Million in Financing to Support U.S.-Manufactured Commercial Aircraft Exports to Turkish Airlines

July 30, 2021

The Board of Directors of the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) approved two transactions totaling $832.5 million in loan guarantees to support exports of U.S.-manufactured Boeing 787-9 aircraft, B737 MAX 8 aircraft and B737 MAX 9 aircraft, respectively, to Turkish Airlines in Istanbul. EXIM’s loan guarantees are estimated to support an estimated 4,500 American aerospace jobs at The Boeing Company’s manufacturing facilities in Washington State and South Carolina, and at Boeing’s suppliers throughout the United States. Turkish Airlines expands its operations in the United States with the launch of its eleventh destination in the country and the second in the state of Texas, to Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW). The flights from Istanbul to Dallas will start on September 24th with plans to operate 4 flights per week.
