Our Global Key Themes In Review
At the end of 2020, we highlighted eight global themes and many regional themes that we thought would emerge throughout 2021. Halfway through the year, we assessed how well our predictions have fared thus far and discuss our expectations for the second half of 2021. In general, many of our views are playing out to some degree, and we explain these views in more detail below.
Sub-Saharan Africa In Focus
Fitch Solutions is a market leader in covering industry, economic and political risk in Sub-Saharan Africa. Over recent weeks, our analysts have published research touching on key themes such as the impact of Covid-19 on economic growth, the outlook for further social unrest in South Africa and the risks for Africa’s huge infrastructure pipeline.
Industry Predictions: How Are We Doing?
Halfway through 2021, our industry teams took a look at the “Key themes for 2021” that they laid out at the end of 2020. Across heavy industries, and consumer sectors, we assess which themes are playing out, which have surprised us and why.
