IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Dear Companies;
The list of effected products in the wake of Turkey's removal from the Generalized Preferences System (GPS) is attached below.
An “A” in the GSP Status column designates articles that are GSP-eligible from any beneficiary developing country (BDC). “A*” indicates that the product is not eligible for certain GSP beneficiaries specified in General Note 4 to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States.
In this case, Turkey's exports to the US, if removed from the GSP program, will be taxed according to the rates specified in the document.
Event and Activities
Süleyman Ecevit Sanlı, Vice President of TABA-AmCham joined TGRT News to give insight into the latest developments with America's Generalized System of Preferences.
A product of the World Trade Organization, the GSP delineates countries into two groups: developed and developing, and imposes a lower, incentivized tax rate to developing countries to assist in their development and global trade.
Since President Trump has taken office, he has been pursuing an America First policy of pulling production within US borders and incentivizing companies that produce their goods in the United States.
How is the investment in America affected in such an economic and political situation? What will the impacts on various sectors in Turkey be? The answers to these questions and more are answered by Mr. Sanlı in the interview linked above.
Answers to these questions and more by clicking on the link in the photo above.
